Simon Kerr Art Exhibition, June 2017

“How to Survive a Prison Tower Siege”, an autobiographical exhibition of paintings by Simon Kerr, based on his experiences in the New Zealand prison system. Simon’s criminal activities saw him spend 18 years in prison over the past 40. It was during a more recent sentence that he developed his gift for art, and it has been the vehicle through which he has been able to choose a different life. Simon’s artist talk delved into issues ranging from the art of painting to the criminal justice system.
